Autumn Term- 2nd Half Term
Thirsty Thursdays have been extremely popular this half term and the children have really enjoyed blending together their own breakfast smoothies and juices.
Children researched their own fruity smoothie recipes online that they wanted to try themselves as well as being super adventurous in trying Mrs Pearce's Groovy Green Spinach Smoothie!!! Children also made their own carrot and ginger juice and very berry smoothie!
To finish the end of term children made their own Christmas Hot Chocolate filled with cream and marsh mellows for a special treat!
Breakfast Club have now bought their own smoothie blender as this healthy option has been so popular. Well done Breakfast Club!
Autumn Term- 1st Half Term
This half term St John's Breakfast Club have loved taking part in Try Something New Tuesdays! The children have tried a range of new breakfast snacks such as mango, grapefruit, dried apricots and their number one favourite pomegranate! The children have also taken part in “Breakfast Cooking” by making their own banana and honey wraps, fruit and yogurt compots and fruit kebabs . The children were rewarded with a special breakfast of bacon sandwiches to say well done for all trying something new. They really enjoyed this treat and even a few parents managed to grab a bacon roll to take to work! :)
After half term we will be starting THIRSTY THURSDAYS where the children are going to make their own fruit smoothies and juices from scratch.
Starting the day with a healthy breakfast is important to us and we love to promote this in a fun way for your children to enjoy.
